We are currently seeking a Senior Buyer who will be responsible for Value Stream including responsibility for preparing and processing requisitions and placing purchase orders for the procurement of commodities and supplies for manufacturing of our products. This role be responsible for alignment with the Production Planner to ensure materials are readily available to support the production plan.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Materials & Planning and is part of the Supply Chain team located in Indianapolis and is an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Place new POs and follow up on existing POs

  • Work to negotiate favorable pricing with vendors/suppliers

  • Establish contract terms with suppliers and drive ongoing supplier optimization ensuring organizational metrics are achieved

  • Identify and facilitate continuous improvement activities

  • Collaborate with and support production planning and Value Stream to ensure timely delivery to our customers

The essential requirements of the job are:

  • Bachelors’ degree with minimum of 3+ years of experience in a tactical or strategic procurement role, directly supporting manufacturing/project management.

  • Strong organizational, communication and detailed operational process skills to keep all parties informed of attainment or missing metric targets.

  • Experience driving results in managing supply base, including negotiating, supplier OTD and forecasting.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, high volume of suppliers (100+) and parts (average of 700 active parts) and escalating issues as needed.

  • Proficient with ERP, Excel, and agility in learning new software.

It would be a plus if you possess experience in the following areas:

  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CPM Certification

  • Experience in manufacturing buying/planning for instrument/accessory products

The salary range for this role is $90-95K annually. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
