WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• The Critical Care Paramedic will be responsible to provide direct patient care to patient’s requiring interfacility transport from primary or critical access hospitals to tertiary care hospitals providing urgent procedures or admission to intensive care centers.
• The Critical Care Paramedic will participate in trainings, clinical rotations, and all education needed to perform their role affectively.
• Performs Basic & Advanced Life Support for pre-hospital and interfacility assessment and care.
• Performs Critical Care Assessment and Skills for care of interfacility and pre-hospital care.
• Participates in ongoing monthly & quarterly training including Audit & Review, Sims Lab, Clinical Rounding, Protocol updates, and all assigned learning.
• Communicates and acts as a liaison between the patient, physicians, and all agencies involved in the transport.
• Patient Transfer/Hand Off: Provides orderly and expedited patient care at pick up and destination.
• Responsible for assigned ambulance, equipment and supplies utilized during shift, security of equipment and supplies, daily check lists, medication handling, and crew quarters cleanliness.
• Responsible for appropriate documentation of patient care, demographics, billing, and all other forms of documentation related to the job description.
• Day Shift is 7:00 AM- 7:30 PM
• Night Shift is 7:00 PM- 7:30 AM
• Full-time Critical Care Transport EMT will be scheduled to work three 12-hr shifts one week, then four 12-hr shifts the next, with an every other weekend requirement.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/ GED- Required
• Certified Paramedic- Required
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS)- Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ALS)- Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)- Required
• Drivers License- Required
• 2 years experience working as a paramedic- Preferred
• 3 years driving experience- Preferred
