Terminal degree in construction, architecture, engineering, or a closely related field (Civil Engineering, Structure Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Architectural Engineering). A foreign educational equivalent is acceptable.

Candidates also should demonstrate evidence of effective leadership as program coordinator, potential for establishing a publication record, grant procurement, and communication skills in written and spoken English.

Position Details:

The place of employment is at Indiana State University, 200 North 7th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47809.

The Department of Built Environment at Indiana State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Associate Professor of Construction Management to actively contribute to continuing program development, collaborate with colleagues, and engage with students to promote curriculum in areas of construction management. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective leadership skills as program coordinator, potential for impactful scholarship, teach related topics in an outcomes-based learning environment in which innovative pedagogy, creative assignments, and excellence in student work are paramount. Continuous improvement of course materials in on-campus sections must be replicated through Indiana State University's highly regarded online program.

Taking on Program Coordinator responsibilities such as, but not limited to:

  • Overseeing curriculum matters (addition, revision, suspension of program courses)
  • Managing program revisions
  • Assisting with development of articulation agreement as appropriate
  • Assisting with review and updating information on Catalog and website
  • Assisting with review and updating marketing and recruiting materials
  • Maintaining recommended study plans
  • Leading and managing annual assessment and accreditation activities
  • Assisting with recruitment and admissions/retention activities
  • Serve as liaison to the program's Industry Advisory Board

Regular Faculty Responsibilities such as:

  • Teaching undergraduate level courses
  • University and external services
  • Research/scholarship
  • Recruiting students
  • Engaging students in scholarship
  • Advising students
  • Engaging with industry partners
  • Developing curriculum
  • Tracking outcomes assessments
  • Participating in the re-accreditation process

CNST 318 - Statics and Strength of Materials 3 Credits

CNST 330 - Construction Accounting, Finance, and Safety 3 Credits

CNST 351 - Professional Internship 3 Credits

CNST 401 - Ethics and Construction 3 Credits

CNST 418 - Design of Temporary Support Systems 3 Credits

CNST 420 - Construction Surveying 3 Credits

Qualifications
